Tranquil Residence: A Perfect Balance of Aesthetics and Functionality

The inspiration for the Tranquil Residence came from the client's desire to enjoy a leisurely life while nurturing their family bonds. With a love for reading, the design incorporates an ample reading space that exudes simplicity and elegance. By striking a balance between atmosphere and living, this design creates a space where the family can unwind and gather their love and warmth.

What sets the Tranquil Residence apart is its commitment to creating a space that people anticipate returning to every day. The core concept of the design is to provide a sense of ease and a gathering place for the family, allowing them to recharge and regain their life energy. Spanning approximately 150 square meters, this five-story building focuses on both personal space and emotional interaction, while still maintaining a strong sense of belonging to home.

The realization of the Tranquil Residence is achieved through the use of carefully selected materials such as timber, rough stone tiles, and iron. The light color palette chosen for the space creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the combination of timber and rough stone tiles in the public areas adds visual and tactile sensations that evoke a sense of originality. The metal accents in the design showcase the strength of the cabinets, adding a touch of modernity to the overall aesthetic. The master bedroom, with its balanced cutting method, exudes elegance and creates an atmosphere of tranquility.

The nearly 150 square meter layout of the Tranquil Residence includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, two master bedrooms, a bedroom, and a study. Each family member has their own private space tailored to their preferences, while the public areas are designed with a light color palette, timber, and rough surface tiles to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, both private and public spaces incorporate dedicated reading areas, catering to the family's love for books.

Tranquility, leisure, bright color tones, and permeability are the highlights of this design. The ground floor encompasses the living, dining, and kitchen areas, flooded with natural sunlight, creating a spacious and inviting environment. Each of the upper floors features a master bedroom, with dressing rooms designed to meet the client's needs. The daughters' bedroom and a guest bedroom are located on the fourth floor, while the study occupies the fifth floor. The decoration, furniture, hardware, and space planning have all been carefully considered to align with the family's preferences, resulting in a cohesive and inviting residential atmosphere.

The Tranquil Residence was completed in October 2018 in Anping District, Tainan, Taiwan. The design is a result of extensive research, focusing on the use of light colors, natural materials, and open spaces to create a warm and relaxing home. The simplicity of the design style is preserved throughout, with specially selected furniture and decorative ornaments adding to the overall warmth and charm of the space.

Overcoming the challenge of creating a simple yet engaging design in a large space, the Tranquil Residence succeeds in avoiding emptiness and boredom. Through the use of light color tones, raw texture building materials, and carefully curated decorative elements, the designers have achieved a space that is both minimalistic and inviting.
